You need to eliminate a urinary tract infection as a possible cause – a quick trip to your veterinarian is in order. She’s young, but as a giant breed, you may need to consider hormonally responsive incontinence as a possibility, too.

I had a room mate who once had a Siberian husky, he let it sleep with him one night and it decided to wet the bed in its sleep. You’d think my room mate learn his lesson the first time around, but it happened again I think.

Because the cat was already using the ottoman?

What @syz says, and talk to the vet.

My brother had a neutered male dog that was incontinent. It was very hard on the couch, and they threw it out when the dog died.

Probably a UTI, very common in dogs. Also could be a new medication or food – any recent changes in the dog’s diet or medical care?

It’s also possibly scent related. I brought my pretty well trained dog (who hasn’t peed inside in years) over to my aunt’s house, where the couch has been peed on several times by her 3 dogs, and as soon as we came in he walked right over and pissed on it. Do you have a small child or another pet that could have little a few dribbles go?

Lastly, I wet the bed occasionally until I was like 10… Maybe she just had an accident?

Good point! Are you sure it was the dog, and not @trumi?

May have been me.

I agree with @syz as have experienced this problem with my Jack Russell Terrier. Once diagnosed it’s a fairly easy condition to get rid of.

Has your dog been spayed? Incontinence can be a side effect to being spayed.
