Where to get started to get PC Support, or IT specialist certified?

Asked by lukiarobecheck (1526points) October 15th, 2009

I am looking to make the switch from computer sales, to PC support, or an IT specialist. I know that I would need to have some certifications. I was looking online last night at the Microsoft web page for their cert. programs. I know SQL would be good to know. I am looking at possibly going and getting certified at a local community college. Any one have any other good ideas?

Thanks.

There are lots of online resources for vendor certifications… DVDs, downloadable or streaming videos, interactive classes, simulator based home labs, test exams etc.. vendors themselves, like Microsoft, Cisco and HP provide these resources.

You also can look at sites like Trainsignal.com, where you can choose from a wide array of fields mainly from Cisco and Microsoft.
