I have to observe and report on a place with "sterotypical" people. Ideas?

The assignment is to go somewhere where I think a stereotype of people would be, observe them, and report my findings. I also have to get some sort of proof that I actually went somewhere. (Ticket stub, signature, etc). Any ideas?
The paper only has to be a page or two, and I’m aiming for minimal effort. That said, I trust my fellow jellies can come up with something ingenious all the same.
thanks!

This project should generate some very peculiar papers.
How about a an area with minorities or people of color.
Not sure what they are called but we have a video game place in a strip mall where the blinds are drawn and players are online all day… that could be a possibility.
A high-end spa or restaurant. Where do you live?

The zoo in front of the great apes.
(IMHO, people at the zoo act less civilized than the apes)
Haha why not enjoy yourself while you’re at it? Visit a stripper club ;)
Hmm. You need proof. You could hire her to come to your school as proof, I’l bet you get an A+

Brooklyn Italian Restaurant
Seattle Coffee House

@Darwin a video arcade would be a great idea, if gamers were willing to get of their ass and leave their house these days. Gaming just isn’t social like it once was.
@SpatzieLover pretty offensive post. Theres a big difference between being a hick or a hillbilly and being white trash.
“is not that an oxymoron”
Figured you would say that.
The DMV, especially if there is one in a mall close to you.
The subway
A check cashing place
@patg7590 Aiming for minimal effort. What a bummer. I could have given some good ideas. Sounds like a fun assignment.
@hookecho This probably isn’t the right place to start this but.. Yes, yes gaming is social. See, there are these things called microphones. You speak into them. People on the other end hear you. Even in World of Warcraft, most guilds demand that you have a microphone in order to raid with them. There is plenty of friendly chatter in between the battling.
How could I have forgotten my recent trip to traffic court? Every Tues. evening in our little town, there is a motley collection of people at the court house starting about 6:30PM. The problem with the stereotyping is that along with the guys covered in tats and smoking unfiltered cigarettes, you have me…not your average hot rodder. But there is a certain percentage of types or sub-groups. (You can always spot the lawyers by their kkakis, blue blazers, white shirts and striped ties…maybe that’s a good stereotype…) And there is always a collection of sullen, 17 yr olds with their fathers.
And there was also my experience in traffic school – again I was in the minority and surrounded by the snoozing 16-year olds…always boys..
@Sarcasm But still you’d have to agree it’s a little different as before when you had to visit friends or arcades to play games together (I wish I was born 10 years earlier). Although they did play a lot more single player back then, idk.
Any office operated by government employees.
(Shuffle, ignore, throw attitude, ignore, take smoke break, deliberately move slowly, throw attitude, accuse customer of attitude, shuffle, gossip about coworkers babydaddy, yell to superior for help, act like working is painful, shuffle…)
Blockbuster; any university campus.
@Sarcasm I don’t consider talking to someone whos not in the same room as you as being social. Social is going to an arcade and talking to and challenging players there. Calling anything done over the internet social is somewhat of an oxymoron.
@hookecho no, saying what you just said on fluther is an oxymoron lol
social networking lol
Call your tech support for your mobile phone. Make 12 calls to twelve different operators and take notes. Ask about reducing your monthly rates.
@gailcalled YES! Then do the same^^^^for your credit cards
Probably not germane to the majority of the collective, but for true madness, try calling Medicare to find out how, when and why to register for Medicare D (the prescription plan with the donut hole). Then try to find out why the premiums for Medicare B (hospital) and D are going up while your social security monthly check is decreasing. The gov. is not adding a COLA this year.
Because I was a good and frugal woman, the IRS has told Medicare that I get some dividends and interest and thus I have a greater penality for Med. B deductions. All the deduction are taken out of the Social Security check before it arrives, pathetic thing that it is, in my checking account.
But this brings up a whole other issue.
