Do you think charges should be filed against anyone in the "Balloon Boy" case?

Asked by steelerspilot (180points) October 17th, 2009 from iPhone

I personally think this was the kids thing. The dad did nothing. I think the kid is bad and should be in big trouble. Do you think they should press charges against falcon’s dad or anyone involed in this case

A boy strapped a ton of balloons to himself and flew away?

I think the family should be investigated by CPS. Just to make sure all is well with that family.

But having said that you do know variations of this topic have been asked twice in the last two days? Of course people are still responding so I’m not sure that matters, lol

@RedPowerLady I completely agree. CPA needs to step in and do some investigating.

Also on CNN the sheriff said ” he thinks federal charges may also be filed”. I think the CPS and FBI should be investigating this. No federal charges should be charged, no charges should be filed at all

That would be awesome to ride that ufo balloon.

This is what is being reported here (Australia.)

Police chief Alderden said the Heene family would be re-interviewed but stressed during a press conference on Friday that investigators believed they had not been victims of a hoax.

’‘We were convinced yesterday after talking to the parents and having investigators on scene during the duration of this event that the parents were being honest with us,’’ Mr Alderden said.

’‘They appropriately expressed statements, non-verbal communication, body language, and the emotions during this event that were entirely consistent with the events that were taking place. We believe at this time that this is a real event.’’

Are you allowed to create and fly a giant balloon contraption? I thought it was cool at first but if things had gone wrong, (minus missing his son) wouldn’t there have been a ton of property damage?
And you should check where your kids are when this kind of thing happens.
And what little kid hides when something that big and cool is happening. I find it suspect. Little kids get yelled at all the time, but unless his dad explicitly said “you’re not allowed to be out here because you’re grounded” or whatever, I don’t see why a little kid wouldn’t be there for it.

I think it’s ridiculous that we’re still hearing about this.

I think the family need serious therapy/counseling…they were reportedly on Wife Swap twice…This was serious..suppose this make shift helium blew into a plane, helicopter, etc and casued serious harm..

If after further interviews the authorities believe this was done as a publicity stunt (which seems likely to me), then hell yes.
