Is there anything unusual about this increased latest seismic activity with earthquakes around the world? No one seems to be wondering. Is it still be researched?

Earthquakes don’t get much TV news coverage unless they strike a major city.
However, geological study groups have a lot of new information to process and they are likely not sitting idle.

in my unqualified opinion, i think you will find that if you had a graph of all the seismic activity for the last 200 years, you would see sharp raises and falls. but i think if you look at a graph over the entire history of the earth it would be quite steady.

i have heard people claim that it must be all the polution and that man is doing it somehow, and while that is a possibility i am yet to see any evidence to back up the claim. i think mankind is having an effect on the climate, there is evidence to support that. i just dont think we have anything to do with the earthquakes. at least not until i see some evidence or at least hear the personal opinion of someone who works in that field.

Research. The weight of ice, oceans etc. has an effect on layers of earth crust. If all that ice is melting it relieves a lot of pressure on its sub surface. This may cause uplift or movement. Look it up somewhere in geology. Also I read we cause quakes by pumping oil, blasting mines, pumping water etc. I saw these thoughts in some science web site I have on Feed. Forget which one.

the earthquakes are caused by all the bean burritoes I eat and the resulting gas passed while sitting on a hard wooden chair. Sorry, but those ‘vibrations’ are my fault. no pun intended.

When and where has there been an increase in seismic activity?
