Which MacBook should I buy?

Here’s the deal:
I am going to college later this year and my parents have been generous enough to buy me a MacBook to enjoy and use.

I will be taking classes for graphic design (mostly just web development, though). So I know I’ll need photoshop (or at least Gimp).

I don’t want the MacBook Air. It’s not practical for what I want.

I can maybe persuade them for a MacBook pro, but which basic MacBook would you suggest I buy? I am deciding between the 2.2GHZ white, or the black.
