I don’t think I got a Visa ahead of time when I went to Egypt, but I think I may have had to pay some sort of tourist tax when crossing the boarder. (They charge you for EVERYTHING there, even toilet paper.)
When my nephew moved to Dubai the hardest part was getting out of the US, not getting into Dubai. He had to scrabble and buy a return ticket because they wouldn’t let him board the plane with a one way ticket.
I think they make it pretty easy, (I said easy, not cheap) for ordinary tourists though. Make sure your passport is in order.
Yeah most Amuricaaaaaaans. Seriously, you don’t need to take one. I do not think it would be necessary either.
Passports, like Judi said above, are probably the most important thing to worry over. Remember to have fun if your going, that’s quite an amazing experience. Try not to let the money be on your mind and damper most of your trip. Just be aware of your surroundings and plan ahead.
And always have a few bucks on you to bribe tip your way out of any problems. Be ready for the line, “I give you a gift, now you give me a gift…” I think I would take some Mickey Mouse stickers or something to respond to that. They will put an alabaster rock in your hand and expect money a gift. Might as well give them something just as worthless. You can turn the tables on them and accuse them of being ungrateful for your gift.
Thanks @Les . I knew we paid something when we got there. Those $, $10, and $15 fees happen all the time in Egypt.
No you don’t need to have
