How many people in the world would you give your life for?

Just intended to make you think about how many people you have close to you.
Under what circumstances would you do it? Are there some people who you would do it with out thought to?
If you had time to make the decision, would your list be smaller or larger?

I would die in place of any family member, and I have a huge family.
For my family, and of course, under the right circumstances, for a stranger.
4, my Mum, Dad, younger sister and my SO. As for strangers, any child in less than a heart beat. I have always felt that if it came between me and a younger person I would go in their place. – LB
This might sound cold-hearted or egotistical, but I might not give up my life for my mother. After all, she’s old and I’m young, she’s lived her life and mine is still ahead of me. And I’m pretty sure she’d want it that way too.
And if you thought that was messed up, how about this one: I’m pretty sure I’d give my life for two of my brothers, though I’m not sure about the third one…
6 – My parents, my siblings, and my husband
3 – my hubby and my sons….both my parents are gone, and they would have done it for me.
As for a friend, I don’t have any friends that are so close I would give my life for, maybe some blood if they needed it, but not my life.
This is a difficult question for me. For my boyfriend, certainly. After that the other choices are foggier though. I’d like to think I would for my parents and siblings, but I can’t say with absolute certainty. Probably my siblings and dad, not too sure about my mom though. No one else is close enough to me that I would consider it.
In all honesty, one. My daughter is the only one who makes that cut.
About a week ago I was walking along with my son when he suddenly darted out into the street (what goes through the mind of two-year-olds?). I immediately ran out and grabbed him and pulled him back. It wasn’t until afterwards that I realized I hadn’t checked to see if cars were coming or if I’d be in any danger. It was actually a little surprising to me how my protective instinct overrode my self-preservation instinct.
Answer: at least 3
At least two. Maybe more.
I like to think I would die for anyone, but when faced with a real situation I don’t know what I would do
I’m with @jaketheripper. I can think of about a dozen people that I can say right now that I would undoubtedly lay down my life for, but when it came down to it, I don’t know what would happen. My son, for absolute sure, without a doubt.
Seven (My Dad, Sis, two Bros, two Nephews and a Niece).
@hearkat That’s the only one I can say for certain, too
There is only one person in my life that I KNOW I would give my life for. There are a handful of other people that I hope I would but there is only one I am sure of.
I would not give my life for anyone. However I can imagine losing it trying to protect my wife and my children.
I think given the circumstances I’d do it for anyone
Anybody who I think is more valuable to society than I am. So… most of them.
Wife, mother, for sure and short of giving it, I would certainly risk it for all boxer dogs.
4. I would die for these people even if I knew they too would die anyway, because I could not live with myself knowing I did anything less than a superhuman effort to save them.
Defiantly anyone younger than me in my family, extended family and all. Also my girlfriend, and cousins etc. my age. I mention the below my age because they have more to loose than me.
I want to say that I would probably do it for anyone if in the moment I didn’t become selfish.
My belief though would put them before myself.
my son he is my only family :)
