Is it possible to play Hulu through XBMC or Boxee?
I’ve searched high and low for an answer to this question. I know it used to work, so most of the information out on the web is dated (mostly back to Feb. 2009). I’d like to know if Hulu is working right now (Oct. 2009) as I just installed XBMC and Boxee to my PVR (or HTPC), but the plugins I’ve found don’t seem to be working.

Yeah, I watch Hulu on Boxee quite often, it works great.
Yes, i have a Hulu channel set up on my boxee. You need to add the Hulu app from the app repository, and enter your hulu login information.
the same goes for streaming netflix via boxee.
I have Boxee installed on my AppleTV and it plays a simplified version of hulu.
@eponymoushipster Hulu doesn’t appear in my app repository. Do I need to download a plugin and move it to the ”/plugins/video” folder?
I’ve downloaded two different Hulu plugins that give me Python error messages and the videos don’t play when I select them (both in Boxee and XBMC). I think they might be old plugins, but I can’t seem to find more recent ones…
@drdoombot that’s odd. Hulu was one of the apps that came default with my installation. Are you using the latest version of Boxee? Is it already installed under Applications->Video?
If for some reason you still can’t get it to work, you can at least install Hulu Desktop. Not as desirable, but workable nonetheless.
I just downloaded it yesterday. It was not installed under Applications->Video.
Damn, I don’t know what’s going on…
@drdoombot seems odd. ive installed boxee on two different machines and it was already there.
I don’t watch commercials.
I pay for digital cable. Then I ‘get to’ watch ads? yeah I don’t think so
then came hulu. one ad then content. sure ok whatever I can switch away to something else
Once my existing hulu hacks require too much effort to replace I’ll simply switch back to watching ‘other recordings’
fsck hulu
