I’m not look for a door jam, but more like a reverse door opener that would open the door slighty if it were close (I’d tape the latch).
I’m going to put the catbox in the front closet, so I don’t want it to be inaccessible in case the door gets closed (since it’s right behind the front door).

Take a piece of 2×4, cut a piece off of one end at a 30 degree angle. Voila`, instant door holder-opener.
Design one and have it made. i would imagine it is quite asy to do.
you could just drill in to the hinges on both sides, and put some kind of smooth cilingrical ⅓ inch metal stump in them, with some kind of little border on it so it can fit behind the hinge in the little hole and not pop out. you have springs put behind them and it should push the door open when left ajar, and should slot in to the hole when you want to close it.
give me a minute… ill draw it up and upload link to the pic.
Just attach something to stick of the end of the door so it can’t close.
@poisonedantidote I have cats. They find ways of locking themselves in odd closets ;)
How about a cat door instead?
I personally use an old sneaker or clog, when I want to leave an outside door ajar for Himself.
@SpatzieLover
you could probably design something to stop them from doing that.
take about a half meter of piano wire, a piece of a broom handle, a drill and a rather large led fishing weight.
you sand off your broom handle, so that it is just about 15cm long, and drill a small hole in it so that you can pass your steel wire through it. you then attach the led weight to the other end of the wire, and you could use this as a miniature makeshit mace to slap the cats about with untill their learn and they stop doing it. :P
@poisonedantidote that would confuse the heck out of the curious dogs…maybe I’d make a $100K putting a video of that on TV?! ;P
My friend uses a brick. However, there are a wide variety of door stops on the market. I have a really cool iron bird thingy, but they make all sorts of them… including funny ones like this.
