What criteria are being used to determine the roll-out of Twitter's new Lists feature?

Asked by sferik (6121points) October 22nd, 2009

Earlier today, Twitter expanded the Lists feature to 5 percent of users. I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t make the cut. :( Any clues on what criteria Twitter is using to select users?

For those of you who have the feature, feel free to speculate on why you got it. Do you all have something in common?

I don’t have it but my guess would be user id, rewarding the oldest users.

I think it’s just degrees of follow from current twitter employees..

@timtrueman that’s a good guess, but I know someone with a newer account than mine who has the feature

I apologize for being so twitgnorant (twitter ignorant, get it? cause they love portmanteaus on twitter!), but what are lists?

@Sarcasm Nick Kallen offers a good introduction here. It’s an awesome feature. I want it. NOW! :)

I manage an embarrassing number of Twitter accounts, and it seemed that any account would get the new lists feature almost immediately after it was added to a list by another user.
