What is essential during sex?

Just wondering what you think has to happen when two couples make love to each other, and how long you think that intercourse should last? Personally I think that foreplay is a MUST lol. And a little teasing never hurt anyone (right?) lol.

For me at this stage in life, the only essential is LOVE. Beyond that, anything goes… from a quickie to an all-night escapade ;-)
Teasing can get very annoying, depends on how you do it though.
True, real, deep, passionate love that makes for an intense physical attraction. Foreplay is quite helpful as well.

Reciprocal desire, not necessarily excitement or energy level because two can’t always be in sync but may still want to please or comfort the other. The desire to be present for each other, that means a lot to me. Duration is so fluid- there are times when a ‘quickie’ is absolutely tremendous and fulfilling whereas several non stop hours become awkward and a bore. If I’m comfortable with my partner then my body can respond rather quickly in orgasms and being female, I can have several of them so length of time isn’t that big a deal for me. If my partner couldn’t manage at least 10 minutes then that there might be an issue. Foreplay is hugely important since I equate it with interest and attentiveness, I like the affirmation a lover of mine is really into sex with me and not just ‘getting off’.
