Have been stung by a bee more than a week ago and this looks like a bat bite. What should I do?
I haven’t done anything, anything at all. Let the sting run its course, meaning, I didn’t disinfect, or whatever else. But it is itching (as has been since day 1) and I wonder, is there something I can do about it now? It has a little bit of pus. Thanks

You are certain this is a bee sting?
It does not sound like a typical bee sting.
Itching from onset? Did it sting? Did it swell?
I have heard that you cannot feel a bat actually bite- not sure if this is a wives tale or not. Could it actually be a bat bite?
Well it is probably safe to say that you are not going to experience a severely allergic reaction and die since it happened a week ago and you are still here.
Bee stings always itch me terribly so that doesn’t surprise me, I never had one get infected looking. I would put antiseptic on it and watch for red lines going up from the sting which would indicate blood poisoning.
I felt a burn on my arm and was like “uh? fire in my arm?” i look to my arm and there’s the bee. I remove it, and then removed the sting, tried to suck whatever i could (don’t think I accomplished much), it swell the same day (pretty soon), next day was discrete already, but the sting spot remains. It’s a fact that I scratch it, but even so, I would expect it to heal quicker. I mention bat bite because it seems to have two, uh, holes. But it was definitely a bee. It was actually funny to watch her trying to sting deeper and deeper. Now it’s just becoming annoying. Thanks. I’ll pass by the pharmacy tomorrow.
The sucking likely introduced the bacteria that caused your infection.
Get thee to a doctor. Mouth bacteria makes for nasty, tenacious infections not easily treated by topical medicines.
Truly antibiotics are your best bet here but in the event you want to wait keep an eye out for any fever even low-grade and warmth around the sting.
Thanks again. I’ll take good care of myself I promise. I’ll ask a doctor friend tomorrow what he thinks of this, looking at it he’ll know better. Thanks :)
at least take some benadryl.
Claim a nobel prize for inventing the world’s first bat-bee… since apparently there are no longer criteria for winning those awards
@BBQsomeCows : That was out of nowhere, now, wasn’t it? Have something to get off your chest?
I’m kinda confused, what does a bat bike look like exactly?
a lot of times, an insect bite will develop two points of redness that look like punctures, and it is caused from scratching at it. This is the main reaosn people will assume they have been bit by a spider. Unless you see the spider bite you, it is unlikely that you have been bit by a spider. I would assume the same goes for bat bites. If somethign as big as a bat bites you, how can you NOT feel it, considering a bee is much, much smaller than any bat, and you can feel it easily enough. Bacterial infections will often flare up into a two-hole semblance, and look like a bite by some living beastie, but is in fact just an infection. Bacteria is everywhere, and the dirtiest place in your house is probably your keyboard, not your toilet.
@ubersiren
he should get something for nothing
It’s all the rage
@ubersiren: Now, you know it’s in bad form to argue with the trolls.
turn into a vampire?
i hear it’s all the rage now
To clarify, I know it was not a bat bite. I’m not absolutely sure why I even mentioned a bite. Probably because it had two spots. But previous answers have made clear what the double spot is about. Thanks once more. I am healed, by the way. Only a tiny tiny thing remains.
