Human eye resolution?

What is a good approximation for the resolution of the human eye in standard megapixels?

People have estimated around 500–600 megapixels but this is a funny way of talking about our amazing, amazing eyeballs.

More interestingly, our eyes adjust to differences in light and light temperature better than any camera. Go rods and cones!

There’s a pretty good page here: http://www.clarkvision.com/imagedetail/eye-resolution.html about not only the resolution, but dynamic range, sensitivity etc.

This page agrees with nzigler and says close to 600MP would be a good estimate.
