How do you private your "Become a fan of..." feed on Facebook?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) October 25th, 2009

So, I’m guessing everyone knows that Facebook has updated it self with the new Live Feed News. Is there a way to not let people see who you became a fan of on Facebook? Like we can disable the whole show who’ve you added on Facebook by unchecking the box in the privacy settings but is there one for the “Become a fan of”?

I don’t see anything there for removing “became a fan of.” Sorry ‘bout that.

I don’t think there is for “Become a Fan of..” but after you become a fan of something you can remove it from your wall or feed by going to your profile and then click on “Remove.”

Privacy settings.

Settings > Privacy settings > News Feed and Wall

Pretty much uncheck everything that you don’t want seen.

You can also go to:

Settings > Privacy settings > Profile

and unclick the links thing.

Also…

Settings > Privacy settings > Search

And you can click off “pages I’m a fan of.”

Unchecking “fan of” under “search” means they can’t see the pages you’re a fan of, if they look at your profile. I’m not sure that unchecking that box means it won’t show up as part of their news feed, though.

As far as unchecking under privacy—> wall, there is no box for “fan of.” That’s pretty much what I had up there in the first post, but I realized it was a no-go.

The combination of the three might just get it. I’ve been playing with my privacy settings (customized in some places to within an inch of their lives) for quite some time, and this is what I have undone. It doesn’t show up on my page.

Hmmm. I haven’t fanned anything today; I’ll have to go take a look.
