Was it just a rumor? I just did the update and nothing new.

It’s not a rumor, you should be able to if you have the latest update.
& you can send vids as well. :-D !
Do you have one of the original iPhones? The MMS only works on the 3G and 3GS iPhones after the OS 3.0 update. There are instructions for enabling MMS on original iPhones all over the internet, but these worked for one of my friends. You’ll need a jailbroken iPhone, though.
After the update, you’ll have to restart your phone. Hold down the Home key and the top button until the phone powers down and back on again. You should be all set after that.
I have the 3G….Huh, lemme try again.
Make sure you’re downloading the carrier update, not just the iPhone software update. They were separate updates in iTunes.
Make sure you go into your settings app on the iphone and check MMS

It did not work. I am re-downloading the update now. I’ll let you know if it works.
Once you get it working it is awesome!
It took me two times to get it to work and two re-starts.
Oh- and I do not know if this helped or not but for the second time I put the phone in “Airplane Mode” while updating to be sure a text or call did not corrupt the process.—
It worked! WOOT WOOT! It’s about time Apple! Now does this cost me more money even though I carry the entire package? (yes I know I could call AT&T)
Not that I am aware of.
It is very handy- and indeed about time!
No, it doesn’t cost any more.
