Why is my usb backup so slow?

I have just installed windows 7 and when I do my usb backups it now takes more than twice the time it used to with winxp. I’m using Acronis Trueimage and have firewire800.

My guess would be that your usb drivers are not compatible with Windows7 or they need to be updated. Check with the mainboard/computer manufacture for updates.

maybe you need to upgrade your version of Accronis to the newest version that works with 7?

FW800 should be sick fast so i would say its either a driver or software issue.

And I’ve just checked the FW driver and it says I have the best driver available.

perhaps there isn’t a decent FW800 driver available yet for 7. FW800 isn’t terribly common on Winblows machines.
