What happens to a person who has been knocked out with ether?
I’m writing a book in which the main character gets knocked out by ether and I want to be as accurate as possible. How would he feel when he woke up? Would he have trouble walking around right after he woke up? Would he have a killer headache? Any information in this area would be helpful.

he’d be really really sick, puking. if he woke up.
Have you read The Cider House Rules by John Irving or seen the movie? The doctor uses it on himself nightly because he suffers from insomnia. He had no ill effects from the daily usage except for his death from it due to falling asleep with the ether mask on
@SpatzieLover I think that is called the MJS, now; the Michael Jackson Syndrome.
@Jeruba: Thank you. I honestly wasn’t sure how to ask a search engine. When I typed in “ether” a bunch of chemistry stuff came up.
You’re welcome, @KatawaGrey. You will get different results depending on how you express the search terms, including the use of quotation marks. Here are some alternatives:
effects of ether
“effects of ether”
“effects of ether” physical
ether “side effects”
If you want to eliminate a category of responses, use a hyphen as a minus sign. For example, if you want to look up “Judas” and not get any results pertaining to the entertainer Judas Priest, you eliminate all responses containing “Priest” this way:
judas -priest
Conversely, if you want the term treated as a unit so that the responses all contain an exact march for the expression “judas priest,” you enclose it in quotes like this:
“judas priest”
