Are you a fluther lingerer? (A flingerer?)

I log on pretty much every day, and have done so for five or six months. I go through spurts of contributing to the discussion, but mostly just read. I definitely find fluther topics coming up in my day-to-day conversation.
So I’m wondering… How many of us are out there, quietly observing the daily debates?

I’m lurking, usually, on topics that I don’t dare post on because I know that I’d start an argument with someone. Like, if it was about a controversial issue, then I’d be flingering. Flingerering? What? xD
@troubleinharlem : Lurking is a better term for it. We’re flurking? We’re flurkerers?
I know my lurve doesn’t show it, but I lurke a lot. I observe many threads that I do not participate in.
That’s right. I’m watching you.
sometimes I just drop by to give lurve, is there a term for that?
@LC_Beta – Yeah, that works out better. Flurking sounds rather awkward. No offense, of course.
@patg7590 A lurve John? Just kidding
I read much more than I write too; sometimes don’t have the time/inclination to answer. Sometimes I’m too late to the question and feel most of the good advice has already been given; sometimes, I’m trying to live my “real” life. But I am here most days at least for a while.
“I’m on your internetz. Flingering your thread”
How’s that for wrong-sounding?
To answer the question though, yeah, I do that. More often now than before. But that’ll all change in November when I’ll finally have the time to really answer. <rubs hands evilly>
I contribute when I’m at work with computer access or at home with no errands to do or places to be, sometimes even when I can’t sleep.
It’s always been weird to me to be in an online conversation with someone, knowing that there are invisible, silent observers! Makes me feel HAUNTED!
I do slip in when I should be working and read the debates and “follow” when there’s a interesting discussion going on. I do pipe in a word here and there during the day, but, pretty much I just lurk. When I’m at home, though, away from my minions, I become less of a wallflower and take part more in the discussions.
It is always there in the background.
@jmah That’s my pattern too. I feel it’s unethical to spend too much time at work Fluthering so I just check in, and during down time at home, I’ll respond more.
I’m ALWAYS here! It’s an addiction really :P Whether it’s on my computer at work/home or on my iPhone I’m always fluthering. It’s just a great way to spend my free-time <3 – LB
I’m always here, too. I just pop in & out during the day & wait for something interesting to come along to comment on.
I lurk quite a bit because every time I go to answer a question I seem to be interrupted and I never get to finish my thoughts. I was going to lurk with this question but I actually found a minute to finish my thoughts!
I’m lurking on this question… wait, damn it!
I read much more than I write, especially now that I’m done with my thesis and not procrastinating anymore. Fluther is full of either intellligent conversations that don’t necessarily require any of my limited expertise or troll-y questions I wouldn’t get involved in anyway.
I never log off. I look at the questions and the answers for a period of at least 20 minutes out of every hour I am awake, and answer most of the ones that interest me.
I was going to post on this thread, but decided to just keep on lurking! :-)
I think of myself as more of a Floiterer (Fluther loiterer) than a flingerer…. but in my defense i was without computer for a while and was reading from my iphone.. and i really hate typing from my iphone when i have a long winded answer.. so i rarely contributed.
I almost just didn’t answer this question… but yes, I lurke. A lot. The amount of posts I actually make is probably <4% of the threads I read.
I read more then i write. I will answer if interested.
