I am going to write on Christopher Columbus’s early influences and experiences, and how these contributed to successes and failures in his voyages of exploration, in my essay but I am having trouble finding sources of information for my essay. Does anyone know of information that I can use that pertains to my topic?

It’s not a website, but I recently read “A Voyage Long and Strange” by Tony Horwitz, which was about tracking down myths and half-truths about early American history. He had several chapters where he followed Columbus’ trail through the West Indies. Apparently there’s an amazingly large memorial to Columbus in the Dominican Republic.
@doggywuv Yeah I looked on there but I was a bit uninterested. I don’t think its what I need for my report. Thanks anyways.
@cyndihugs it certainly has information. not good information, but information nevertheless
@cyndihugs It certainly is; by the way did you write that? Its pretty entertaining I must say.
No, Peter the Great wrote it .
lol. Thats hilarious. But seriously do you know any good websites that I can get my information on? I really need to get started on it today.
This might help
However, I do recommend you add random stuff in your essay to make it worth reading.
@cyndihugs Thanks a bunch, I really needed that. :)
@cyndihugs Of course! lol Why would I just throw in a bunch of facts and call it a day? And besides I am writing this for a scholarship so I think I should make it extra special.
@Ailia Hm, you might find something useful with Reference.com. It uses the Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia.
Don’t forget the fact that he contributed to the Genocide of Native people.

(just google it and you’ll find a bunch more).
He’s not a hero.
Also, to be helpful, I guess I’ll tell you that you can find his diary online too if you search good.
@RedPowerLady Yeah I know, I’ve always had a dislike for Columbus ever since I was little. I also always thought it was ridiculous we have a holiday for him; the jerk. Anyways, thanks for the information. :)
@Ailia No problem. Thanx for the response, put a smile on my face.
