Self appreciation is important! What is something that is special about you…that makes you stand out from the rest?

Flippers and incredible swimming ability combined with a rapier like wit.
I realize that I am not really different or special at all.
What makes this special? It doesn’t bother me one bit.
My sparkling and unique personality along with my down to earth, warm, and friendly demeanor.
I have ten extra fingers.
@Bluefreedom . . .you forgot to mention your shit ton of humility.
Wow Sarcasm! Are those 10 extra fingers movable or do they just kind of hang there?
I don’t know… I’m not the wittiest person, not the smartest, not the prettiest, not the most reliable, not the richest….
I guess it’s just how the little bits of me are put together. A bit of humor here, a dab of wit there, maybe it’s the smidge of passion coupled with the dash of optimism….
Maybe the best thing about me is how all of these pieces fit together. Like an old stained glass window in an ancient forgotten church. Beautiful whether noticed or not.
I take pride in the fact that I really don’t like to pick fights or egg them on. I’ve never really understood why someone would go out of their way to ruin someone’s day.
That being said… need aspirin.
In elementary school, I once won an award for daydreaming.
It was officially titled: The Spaceman Spiff (after Calvin and Hobbes) Award For Interplanetary Travel Without Leaving The Classroom aka Pay More Attention In Class Award. I still have it to this day.
not everyone is a special unique snowflake. what makes one person special could also be shared by thousands or millions of others. Does this mean that we shouldn’t have pride in whats “unique” about ourselves? No, but don’t be one of those people who goes around talking about how amazing and unique you are…you won’t have many friends.
That being said, im pretty damn good at the game Centipede, and I think im a pretty decent wrester given my limited training. I still think I could put on an entertaining 5–10 minute match.
@hookecho
I disagree. Yes, the qualities that make a person special may be shared by others, but that doesn’t mean that you’re an exact carbon copy of someone else out there. No two people are exactly alike in appearance and personality, so in a way, you are a “unique snowflake”. I find that fascinating and realizing that doesn’t mean that I go around bragging about how amazing I am; arrogance has nothing to do with it. People will discover positive qualities in me by getting to know me; I don’t have to let the world know about things I like in myself. Additionally, other people can allow me to see things that maybe I hadn’t seen before.
As for the question, it’s hard to say what makes me special since there are so many ways in which I am different from others. I suppose one thing I notice is that I really try to be as friendly and as kind as possible (despite the fact that my friends even are not as much so to certain people). Additionally, various abilities that I have that I don’t come across in too many other people (or any other people that I have met) make me stand out. But really, there are so many different things about me that other people do not have in the same way that are “special”, in that sense.
I certainly do not go bragging about any of this stuff; this is just stuff I think about to myself. I’d be interested to see what people who know me would have to say about what makes me “special”. Maybe they have something completely different in mind…
@hookecho Wrester? You like to take things away from people? ;D
@sarahny For the most part, they just hang there on my feet. They’re pretty short fingers, too.
The fact that I understand why leaves change colors.
I just learned today.XD
My ability to attract a very witty, intelligent, forgiving, thoughtful, charming man that would do anything for me.
He’s also a great cook too.
Im competent in at least 17 different trades. I make money framing houses, hanging and finishing drywall, electrical , plumbing, roofing, tile, hardwood flooring, metal buildings, vinyl siding, masonry, painting, trim carpentry, cabinetry, replacement windows, rubber roofing, car salesman, and cook/ pasta chef.
I can walk and chew gum at the same time.
@jonsblond
Yes that’s an awesome skill. But how do you explain this to your husband?
nothing really
am I supposed to be special, in general? no
but I am special to those that matter to me
the rest of the world…they certainly don’t have to regard me as such
I don’t think I’m special at all, actually.
Like others I am hesitant to call myself special.
Anyway the stuff I brag about (however rare it is to find an opportunity to even do that) is usually stuff I have no business bragging about. And the stuff that makes me unique to my friends is usually the stuff I take for granted or am ignorant of.
My ability to pick out flaws in the [perceived] flawless. It’s been hours and that was all I could come up with.

Professional nitpicker..~_~
Don’t forget criticizer and judgement-passer
I empathize not sympathize and I give Great HUGS!
@sjmc1989 I’m terrible at hugs, mine are always too short, or too long, and it is really awkward.
@Capt_Bloth There is no such thing as a hug that is too long! As long as your sincere I’m sure the reciever will love it. Oh yeah and squeeze really tightly.
@sjmc1989 A hug can be too long if someone has b.o.
Hmm good point but if you like the person enough to hug them you can probably get past to b.o.
Hmm…this question is harder than I thought. I figured I would easily be able to think of something but I’m sitting here unable to come up with one damn thing that makes me special. That’s so sad!
The fact that even though I couldn’t think of one thing I still thought your question was interesting…that’s special…isn’t it?
special, you say? as in unique in a positive manner? in the grand scheme of things I don’t think I’m really special at anything at the moment, as most of us aren’t. I’m kind of smart, but there are plenty smarter than me, I am not poor, yet there are many richer than I. I’m pretty comical, but others will leave you in stitches, I’m a good friend but others will always go the extra mile that I am unable. I play a few instruments but I am no Beethoven or Jimi Hendrix, not even kurt Cobain, not even Brett Michaels.
Perhaps the only thing that makes me any special is knowing that I’ll probably never truly be special at all.
I am special, and unique, there is nobody in the world like me. I make it a habit to help at least two people everyday. I can’t say that I will be entirely happy when there is people who need help.
Injured animals have a way of finding me. I’ve had this animal magnetism since I was a small child.
Nothing. I’m a chimp with a bigger brain. Nothing special here. Move along.
The bus I take to school.
Ok I’ve got one. I’m really passionate. I think that’s special enough :)
I can’t believe I forgot this: I have a hole in my chest! special, right?
