It's what's in between the ears that counts.
What is the meaning of this phrase? What would be a good come back to that phrase?

Meaning- it’s brains not braun that win the day.
Good response-
Person A- ‘It’s what’s between the ears etc’
Person B- What, air?
Yeah, it’s referring to the brain/mind that counts. (It’s kind of cute in a way).
I never really thought of that as being a phrase that required a comeback. It’s not an insult.
Maybe it doesn’t need a comeback, but I still would like a witty response. Thanks.
Dominic said what I was about to.
OK then, how about “What’s in between the legs is important too”.
FutureMemory – a little inappropriate but funny…lol
Ummm…if we have to explain…uhhh…well no comeback will work..
ever kiss a rabbit between the ears?
It means that your brain is the most important part of your body.
I’m having trouble thinking of something witty to say in return…
i’d comeback with if I want any lip from you I’ll rattle my zipper
Good one, trailsillustrated! LMAO. But I want something less sexual please. Thanks.
haha sorry I know it’s pretty terrible…it’s such a lame thing for someone to say in the first place…
Well then, when I need someone who can count my pennies, I’ll be sure to come to you.
@gemiwing:Liking to nitpit, particularly when talking about brains, I have to say that it’s brawn. Remember those paper towels.
This sentence (not a phrase) is an adage or maxim and thus requires no come-back. So, as usual, I agree with
DominicX, the person wise beyond his years.
a good response would be: Yeah, but your brain on the edge of a razor blade would look like a BB rolling down an eight-lane highway.
It’s what’s in between the ears that counts. The comeback: “If you can count the right amount between the billfold then I am all ears.”
