How do i take a photo from the internet and make it into an avatar on another website?

The website you want to make the avatar for should have some guidelines on size, dpi etc. Figure those out. Download the picture you want (be aware of the final size of your avatar). Open the pic in a photo editing software. Select change size, from those menus select the size the website requires. Save AS (use a name so you can find it easy) to your desktop, or somewhere you can find it easily.

Go to the website you want the avi on and then select Upload. Voila. Without knowing what photo editing program you’re using that’s about as specific as I can get. Hope it helps!

hiya! find the photo you want. right click on it. a menu will open.
select Save image as. if you have internet explorer it will open a window and ask where to save it. use the window to find your picture folder select it and save.
firefox is similar except upon downloading the file a window will pop open to show the progress.

once you have your picture you can then use the upload tool on which ever site it is your using. the tool will ask you to browse for your picture by opening a window, use the window to find your picture folder open the folder and double click your your picture.

you may then have to click UPLOAD on the tool.

You can try: Paint, Powerpoint, Photoshop,...

I did mine in powerpoint (2007). Here’s how I did it:
1. Save the photo from the net onto your hard drive.
2. Open powerpoint and insert that photo.
3. Make changes you want, crop it to the size you want.
4. Right click the photo and click “Save picture as”, and save it in jpg,,png, bmp,...format.
5. Upload the photo to web as your avatar.

The answers above a good ones, but you should be cautious about taking photos from the internet, as some are copyrighted, and you could actually lose your account if you use them without permission of the owner. I know people who have lost their accounts this way (not on Fluther, but it could happen – it is a violation of the terms & conditions).
