What is your favorite vending machine treat? I’ve found that vending machines vary greatly with what is inside them. At my school they have pop tarts, but I never see them anywhere else. I can only imagine how the contents vary throughout the U.S.

doritos. except some people where i live pronounce it “dottos”
I go with S’mores Pop Tarts, btw.
Used to be the Honey Bun only because it had the most calories for the money. Then it was Chex Mix. Now it’s Famous Amos if I want something sweet or Sunchips if I want salty. Slightly healthier.
Bag of pretzels is what I get if I use a vending machine I’ve done that maybe twice in the past 3 years.
At high school I used to always get the Welch’s Fruit Gummies. Because they were delicious and not too sweet or fattening.
Skittles in the purple bag
The healthiest item it contains. Peanuts or something with peanut butter if it contains anything healthier.
If not I try to skip it and drink some water.
the only place I frequent a vending machine is at a hospital when someone in my family is ill or dying. If I can I usually take a small cooler w/me filled with healthy snacks

oh, and i totally forgot about wine gums omnomnom
Reeses™ Peanut Butter Cups
Cookies! Or the Little Mini Powdered Donuts (drooling)
@SpatzieLover Peanuts are always a great choice! Lot’s of protein and healthy.
@ragingloli I don’t know where in the world you would find those in a vending machine, but thanks for the chuckle.
@erichw1504 yes, and they can fill you quickly w/out spiking your sugar or in my case…triggering a migraine.
Now I’m going to have to wonder what @ragingloli said that got modded. I’ve seen enough Japanese vending machines to have a few ideas.
@ragingloli well of course, that explains it. =) look, your answer got modded; freedom of speech has been dealt another blow.
Usually Planters Salted Peanuts and a bottle of water.
If I’m throwing caution to the wind (and my blood-sugar is low), Hostess Apple Pies.
I could seriously go for some Hot Fries right now
BBQ Fritos or even the Honey BBQ Frito Twists
Chili Cheese Fritos are the bees knees.
@J0E I’ve actually never tried those.
Do bees even have knees?
Well what costs a $ ?
—Does one twix = a $
“Peach Tea; You’re gonna hate it”
any Office fans out there? :]
I like the Elvis Reese’s cups. They have banana cream in them. They haven’t made them in several years, but apparently nobody else likes them, so I still find them in vending machines. they get better with age, like a fine wine.
@buckyboy28… you just made me gag.. BUT I’m happy that you enjoy them!
Fritos, Cheetos, Snickers, those outmeal cookie with the cream in the middle, pretzels and Doritos. As far as drinks go: coke, sprite, red grapefruit juice, and water.
I like the original flavor of everything…I don’t like bbq chips, ranch flavor, etc.
I wish vending machines had Raisnettes, but I have never seen them in one. AND, I would like to see Coke or Pepsi no caffiene with sugar (impossibel to find, whenever they have decaf it is also diet).
Like @Psychedelic_Zebra, Peanut Butter Cups, if they have ‘em. Second choice, peanut M & M’s.
milky way or hot fries :)
@buckyboy28 You’re not the only one that liked them.
<~ this guy does too!
Something that I really used to enjoy, but can’t seem to find anymore is Munchos chips. Those things were amazing.
@buckyboy28 I remember those! I actually got sick of them though after eating them so much.
I forgot M&M’s, thanks @shego, but the plain ones. Just to be consistent even M&M’s I like the original way.
It used to be something exciting like Abba Zabba or whatever the latest Reeses incarnation is. These days, it’s boring old trail mix, unsalted, at that. It’s the ‘healthiest,’ most proteiniest item in my school’s vending machine. I’m always about to fall asleep, so I can’t risk a crash from a Twix or something of the sort.
I do, often, cut out of class for 5 minutes and down a Mt. Dew.
@JLeslie I think I agree with you on the whole “Original Flavor” concept, the first is usually the best.
@J0E Although I am curious to try those new Coconut m&m’s.
Those crackers that are filled with peanut butter. can’t think of the brand name
For drinks I go with water or lemonade.
@J0E it was my favorite…I’m so sad its gone.
Anything with chocolate. Or peanut butter. Or sugar. Fuck it, I’ll have one of everything.
@J0E That’s it! I’m lazy today. Thanks for doing the work for me. :)
I hate those crackers with peanut butter. When we have race track events our club always buys boxes of them for people to snack on. Yuck.
can’t resist the cinnamon and brown sugar pop tarts every once in a while
Hmm…lately, I’ve been nomming on Baked Lay’s Cheddar and Sour Cream chips. Just enough salty umami goodness to get me through my Japanese class. :)
In the past, though, I’ve picked Starburst (Baja California or just California label) and Jalapeno Cheetos. Limon Lay’s used to be available; now I have to buy a big bag. :P
Does anyone know how to put a tilde on top of letters, as in Jalapeno? Or an accent mark?
ò <—like that?
on my mac its option-tilde then the letter
@patg7590 no, that’s an accent a tilde is like this
I don’t know how to do this either @evegrimm. Wish I could!
On my computer, I have a character map, and that is where I do that.
Estoy extraño y loco
I am weird and crazy
@SpatzieLover i know the difference! they just happen to share a key on my keyboard. :P
Oh Nevermind, says Emily Litella….
I see the ~ key but still can’t use it properly and that has always been the case
@shego On the keyboard, or a program or what? Quiero usar un tilde tambien. I can use my tilde in a word document, but not on the internet.
a mì tambièn
but aren’t they supposed to be going the other way?
I think it is with the computer. I just go to the control panel, and it is there. I just moved it to the desk top. But on mine, it is called character map, and it has characters from any language you can imagine.
@patg7590 Yes, in Spanish they go the other way.
I also have a secret, that I am willing to share just go to babel fish type what you want, get it translated, and copy and paste. I can’t tell you how many times I did that for my French classes.
@shego But still no tildes? see…Amo los jalapenos en mis nachos!
@shego clever idea. I might try that. But, if I’m writing a long sentence I would just leave off all of the accent marks and tildes I think. I assume in Spanish speaking countries the keyboard is different? I have to ask my husband.
really
Let me try it on my computer.
Wow! you got me there.
jalapeños?
The last time I bought a treat from a vending machine was when I got a Cadbury milk bar at Waterloo Station on the Tube. That was a long time ago.
zero bar, I eat one when we are having a crazy shift and I know I won’t have time for a break….I use to eat them when I was little and went to the pool every day, all day, with a group of neighborhood friends during the summer…they would freeze them and yum…it always brings back memories of friends and carefree summers….
I used to like zero, I didn’t realize they were still out there.
In college the library (of all places) had a refrigerated vending machine with sandwiches and the like – one day they started putting Krystal burgers in them! That was the worst/best ever…
My husband brought home Krystal burgers for our 15th anniversary. 15 is Crystal on the traditional list.
@inkvisitor that looks so incredible right now…wait, they put those in vending machines? How does that even make sense? wouldn’t they get cold and moldy?
Pop tarts for me, too :P But I haven’t eaten out of a vending machine since Jr High. Wow, thats a while ago
Those cupcakes with the cream inside of them. nomnomnomnom Man I freaking love those.
