I find myself doing it all the time because my nearsightedness, does anyone else catch themselves doing this regularly?

@pinkparaluies people tell me i squint terribly when i read, but i’ve never noticed
@Samurai i’ve caught myself reading with one eye, and then switching between them
I guess it’s because I choose not to ware glasses to try to improve my vision.
Unless you have a lazy eye, that’s…. an amazingly stupid idea.
@delirium My eye’s have already doubled in range of what they’ve use to be able to see without the use of contacts or glasses. Before you go calling someones idea stupid, try to give some reason behind it. I’ve done my fair amount of research on it already.
Only when I’m really drunk.
When I read, I usually curl up in bed. The way I lay, half of my face is buried in a pillow or stuffed animal, so there’s only one eye available. I do try to take turns with them, though…
I find myself doing what @MacBean does. When I don’t have my contacts in, it’s quite an adjustment for me..my eyes see very differently from each other. So, if I have glasses, I take them off and can read..but I need both eyes.
Yes, because sometimes it feels good to be lazy: when I first wake up and check my phone in dim lighting. It’s easier than turning on the light and putting on my glasses. I am significantly near-sighted
Sure I need to read with one eye many times: when looking thru a knot hole; when looking carefully around the corner of a building; when playing pirate; when trying to read a label after eating something really sour; when reading a distant sign using a telescope.
I used to read with one eye all the time when I had my contacts in, because I have an astigmatism, which my contacts didn’t correct for. So, even though I could see just fine with each eye on its own, I couldn’t resolve the two eyes well enough to focus on something as precise as text. My glasses do correct for it, so I just wear them now – and I need to go get new contacts!
All the time, unfortunately.
