Why don't they let people that are under age drive and get a license if they know how to drive?

Because children are idiots.
I’m 18 and don’t even think I’m old enough to drive.

i’m smart and I know how to drive

I’m 20 and want a million dollars!
What now?
Because their brains aren’t cooked yet.

How would you pay for your car and gas? You can’t even get a job.
I wouldn’t let someone that age drive after having been that age.
IDK but if I need to drive at least I know it’s not illegal
@delirium GA. me at 13 + a car would’ve been a nightmare
Did this question break the page for anyone else?

“I’m 13 and I want to drive!”
“i’m smart and I know how to drive”
No. Trust me. You can’t drive.
This just in, a 13 year old kills a family of five. How did it happen?
We interview the child and this was their response, word by word, “I was searching through my iPod trying to find this like, really totally awesome song and like this car was comming my way and like I didn’t move cause I though they saw I was like really busy doing something. But they didn’t and like I crashed into them, by the way, I never found the song I was looking for, ugh. It’s not my fault! And my daddy is going to kill me cause I crashed his new car and he will take away my cellphone and not give me my allowance in like forever.”
This child claim s/he is a good driver, but I beg to differ.
Gosh, I’m 19 and only started driving this year because my parents basically forced me to. I was terrified and I don’t think wanting to drive is a valid reason to let someone behind the wheel; if anything I would be more concerned because people who are overeager are more likely to not be as careful. Being in college, I don’t even think people my own age should be driving. People can know how to drive and still get in accidents. Plus teenagers and kids seems to think they’re invincible. Well, we’re not.
I thought I was an excellent and experienced driver at 18… Until I totalled my car.
It was a rough lesson to learn, but I’m happy I learned it.
I don’t know of anyone more experienced and responsible than I was at that age, and I still managed to have that happen.
I don’t even think people should be able to drive at 16 anymore.
Seriously?
Ow, me brain no work no more.
driving is a privilege that is earned, not a right, given to you when you reach a certain age. I think they should raise the driving age, or at least make it much more expensive to use electronic devices while in control of a moving vehicle.
My wife and I play the cell phone game when we are out on the roads. Every person we see using a phone while driving earns us 1 dollar; if it is a cop, or any oversized vehicle, it’s 5 bucks. Our best record is $22 in less than an hour.
@booboo7112 What do you need to drive for anyways? It’s really not all that fun. Seriously, it’s just a hassle. I wish my parents would still drive me around!
ok ok I get it I’m too young
thanks for the answers
Woah, seriously, I didn’t expect to win that one.
Way to be understanding!
@Tink1113 naw, you did great! I gave you a GA.
same here, but it made me feel kind crappy.
@booboo7112 Im sorry, but it’s true. As a 14 year old I will admit this is true.
Brains don’t get fully developed until you’re in your 20’s… think of how far from that a 13 year old is.
Dear FSM, please save me from 13 year olds who are on the road because they wanna drive!
Thinking you know how to drive and knowing how to drive are two drastically different things. Even people who are more than old enough have found that out the hard way.
My daughter at 17 “knows” how to drive, but she still takes risks that are quite frightening simply because as a teen she cannot conceive of anything terrible happening to her. And she is quite mature for her age and pretty responsible. Nonetheless, she has damaged her car twice in the past 6 months due to bad judgment calls. Little cars do not handle large potholes with impunity.
Insurance companies have lots and lots of statistics that show that drivers who are younger than age 25 just aren’t as safe as older drivers.
