Is it possible to get addicted to aspirin?
I was wondering if it is possible? I take a lot of extra strength and I wanted to know if you can get addicted. Also, if it is possible, what are some signs that you are addicted? Thanks in advance!

If you really don’t like pain, I’m sure you can. GQ
It’s possible to get addicted to anything
@PretentiousArtist So your saying you can get addicted to watching ants walk across the cement? Isn’t that just interest?
No. It is safe and effective in low dose daily as long as you do not suffer any stomach or digestive tract diseases/ailments.
The best advice from doctors is to either take it with a small meal, or take it with a warm beverage. That way the apirin does not sit or stick on the stomach lining.
How much is a lot? @reacting_acid
I’ve never heard of addiction to asprin. But taking too much for too long can do some harm to your stomach.
I say yes. When you stop taking it do you feel like shit and feel like you need it? Honestly, I would not worry about taking aspirin, just always take it with food and a full glass of water, and remember it thins your blood.
I say… Yes and no. Getting a physical addiction to what’s in the drug itself is probably pretty difficult. A mental addiction, however, might be another story. If you believe that you can’t get through your day without it, due to some kind of pain you may be suffering, you’ll be far more likely to take it – even when it isn’t needed – because of the pain you fear you’ll suffer.
taking a lot of aspirin will harm you. talk to a doctor.
Yes it is, take it easy. Why are you taking so much aspirin in the first place?
@faye Most doctors recommend aspirin due to it’s effectiveness and safe record. It does no damage to the liver, and the stomach damage can easily be avoided. It is a safe treatment for: Heart disease, migraines, arthritis and many other chronic conditions.
I get headaches a lot. I don’t really know why. I know that sounds bad and all but I really don’t know why I get the headaches. I have gotten them for years.
@reacting_acid A doctor’s advice should be sought for any long term pain. If you have recurring headaches you should rule out any causes prior to self treatment.
If you psychologically depend on watching ants and if you absolutely cannot live without watching, then you probably are addicted to watching ants. No, it’s not the same as being “interested” because interest invokes attention or curiosity.
@reacting_acid do you stop and start caffiene a lot? That can give you headaches.
@JLeslie I started having headaches long before I started coffee or caffeine. Plus I have coffee everyday.
@reacting_acid But before coffee did you drink other beverages with caffiene? Soda/Pop? Is the headache on one side and over your eye, or kind of all over your head? How would you describe it? Do you drink coffee the same time every day?
@JLeslie I didn’t drink a lot of caffenited beverages. To be honest the headaches became pretty regular so I didn’t really pay attention to where they are. Sometimes they are all over the place. Right now It is over one eye in one place. And I usually drink coffee at the same time .
Do you need to be in dark rooms and do the headaches make you throw up? One side and those other symptoms are migraines, there are special drugs for that. You should see a doctor, it is not normal to have headaches all of the time. Most headache sufferers get more relief from Ibuprofen than aspirin.
I’m sure it is nothing. I am just over reacting. I dont throw up or need to be in dark rooms. I find that ibuprofen does work better. I have found my self switching to that. Anyways thanks for the advice.
there are numerous side effects and harm to your body from too much aspirin.
@reacting_acid I would suggest finding the source of your headaches. You could have an allergen to a food like wheat that would cause chronic headaches. You could also need reading glasses. You could also have a chronic sinus condition/congestion. There are many things that cause chronic headaches, once you find the trigger they are much easier to control.
Also too much ibuprofen is certainly bad for you. Aspirin should be healthier from what I understand. Talk with your doctor about what they suggest you take in terms of pain meds.
So, not a migraine. Do the headaches occur around the same time of day?
