How to remove crap load of lint off jacket?

Asked by SteveOOO (46points) November 4th, 2009

I have this jacket that is made of 100% polyester and its black. I recently just washed it and know it lint top to bottom. What can I do to avoid this next time?

Can you wash it inside out? That may help. Also, go get one of those masking tape lint rollers. That’ll get rid of what’s there now.

@erichw1504 A shaver would work for pilling, but for lint, the roller would do best.

turn the pocket inside out, and use a vacuum on it,

Take some masking tape, scotch tape or an unwanted label (with a sticky back) and pressed the sticky portion to the lint. The lint will stick to the sticky portion.

To avoid linting it, wash by hand.

@Velvetinenut is right—tape. You can get the roller thing for lint that is basically tape, but easier to use. You can find them in places like Target and Pet Stores. I use it for everything, clothing, furniture, always good to have one in the house.

Duct tape!! Wrap it loosely around your fingers, sticky side out. Voila! Your hand is now a lint roller!! Remove lint, repeat as needed.

I’m with ccrow.. don’t spend extra money on a roller. Use masking or duct tape wrapped sticky side out around your fingers. Works awesomely.

Duct tape FTW! And not the cheap Staples® brand, either. Go to the Home Depot-type hardware store of your choice and get the real stuff!
