Help with urine smell in carpet?

The dog peed in the floor. Actually, she peed on her bed and it soaked through to the carpet. The last accident was a couple of months ago and Nature’s Miracle took care of it. I have treated this one three times and can still smell it. What else will work better than that??

Pet Fresh. You sprinkle it on and leave it overnight, and then vacuum it up.
If the carpet is white/you won’t be selling your home anytime soon, try some pine-sol
Damn. I was going to say “Nature’s Miracle.”
Have you steam cleaned it then tried the Nature’s Miracle?
Nature’s Miracle used to be my old standby, but I heard there is a better one with different enzymes. Let me scout around. In the meantime NM works.
We had a problem with our kitten when we first got her and we used white vinegar, then a good scrub down with water and soap. It worked fine for us but I would recommend using it as a last resort if you don’t like that vinegar smell. Ours aired out but it was strong for a couple of days.
@pdworkin Please do let me know if you find out the name of the other one! Thank you! NM usually does work – I have no idea why it’s not cutting it this time.
@Iclamae Someone else mentioned vinegar to me. Do you scrub the vinegar when you put it on or just scrub when you’re using the soap and water?
I don’t have a steam cleaner, but I can borrow one if I need to.
I have read that it has to be treated all the way down to the underfloor. The urine seeps down to the lowest point, and it has to be treated all the way down. See this similar question.
i have had good luck with wetting the area, sprinkle baking soda liberally then rent a carpet cleaner and use vinegar instead of soap. Resolve cleans wine stains out of carpet, should do urine. and you could put the dog bed on a rubber mat. an old cat of mine peed down the hot air register—challenge!
I just doused it in vinegar/water. I guess I will see what happens…
You need to pull up the carpet and replace the pad under it. It’s almost impossible to get out when it is soaked through to the pad.
Sorry I wasn’t on earlier, I pour a little on it and scrubbed both times.
You know, your dog peed on the bed, too, so make sure you’re cleaning that up too. Just a thought, it could happen
I’m with @Judi on this one. Sorry to say, but often pet urine is the worst to get out scent wise. Even if you clean it instantly with a carpet cleaner the scent can remain. Removing the pad usually becomes necessary.
Vinegar can help cut the odor on the carpet & bed. As a dog and cat (and variety animal owner) let me suggest that you sanitize the bed in a HOT water wash. If it’s polyester you will probably need to pitch it, as the scent will never wash out.
He peed on your fucking rug.
