Basically, we are turning a large basement into a homeschool facility where homeschoolers can meet, teach classes, etc. It will have a raised platform on one end (for performances and whatnot), a kitchen, and a library.
The only thing that’s missing is a good name for the place. It should be…
· Fun
· Playful
· Academic
· Possibly referencing something underground. i.e. Den, Cave, Cove, etc.
Take it away, Fluther!

“Roots of Education”
“Roots of knowledge”
*Cellar Curriculum
*Bedrock of Knowledge
*Cooler Homeschool
*Base of Learning
*Alcove Academy
I am a fellow Homeschooler! Nice to meet you on Fluther.
I’m gonna let my brain paly with this for a bit. I’m more creative when I’m not focused on trying to think.
Why don’t you name it after the street?
Here are some other ideas on how to name a homeschool, with some examples of names of actual school. One suggestion I like is to let the students have a say in the name of the space.
Our local one has the uninspired name of “Homeschool Academy” but it is doing well enough that now there are two of them. It is very clear what it is and so I think attracts parents looking for help with homeschooling.
Highway to Homeschool sounds FAB to me!
I like The Knowledge Den.
The Integrity School
The Promise Den
The Think Tank (that one made me giggle a little bit)
We called ours Casa De Oro, you are welcome to use that name. Any name that expresses the nature/purpose of your home school would be appropriate. How about asking the students?
Deep Understanding
Cellar Scholars
Our Placement
Solid Foundation
Lower Grades Education
Under Standing
Lookout Below
Highway 1 Hangout
Socrates Is Downstairs
Somehow I don’t think that Lower Grades Education would be the best name, but the others are good.
