Sometimes I wonder, how many of these ‘collective intelligence’ websites have mushroomed? ...which is the best one?

Fluther seems to me to be better moderated.
You really should look around a little and you will see the difference for yourself. We have been asked this question several times, and the difference is like day and night. We have many intelligent people here from all walks of life, and the are no free for alls like you will find on yahoo answers. We have moderators here who work hard at keeping moronic questions and answers off the site, and to stop flamers. As @lefteh says above, we are a communtiy, not a random handful of trolls who are insulting and looking for internet drama. You will find a much better class of people here on a daily basis. Welcome aboard!
Fluther has real time communication which is an awesome feature.
@scamp Are the other sites really that bad??
@Val123 I know that Yahoo Answers only allows a limited number of responses for each question, which is very annoying when you are trying to look for an answer and half of the responses are “Hmm… good question. I have no idea”, and they block legitimate responses from getting through.
Hi @rs1 Welcome to Fluther!
If you decide you like it here be sure to check out the guidelines. They will explain the question types allowed and give you an idea of Fluther in general.
Also for fun check our our new awesome unofficial wiki. (Especially the “in jokes”)
Have fun and feel free to ask questions in this thread or you can PM any of the moderators.
Happy Fluthering!
@Val123 I only have a short term experience with yahoo answers. The flaming and moronic behavior there turned me off quickly. I like it here much better!
