What's an easy way to make a home made white board?

Asked by Meagainandagin (45points) November 7th, 2009

Just so I can write stuff on for what I should do each week and then rub it off.

Do you mean like dry-erase board? I dunno, they don’t cost that much; I think it would be more trouble than it’s worth to make one.

Is there any sort of paper I could buy a large piece of and just hang it on my bed room door?

They sell this transparent sticky plastic to protect the covers of books (sorry don’t know what to call it, basically it’s scotch tape that’s a foot wide). If you would use it on white paper or cardboard, you would have a very simple and small mobile lightweight whiteboard. If you want the real deal it’s probably just easier and cheaper to buy one (they come in all shapes and sizes).

Just remember to use the right markers :S I use the wrong ones all the time..

There are adhesive sheets of dry-erase material (like this) that you can stick up anywhere you want.

If you need a big one—go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy what’s called “Economy White Tile Board”—usually under $20 for a 4×8 sheet and they’ll cut it down for you.

I usually get (4) 2’x4’ boards when I’ve done this, they seem like a good size.

@Harp
Thanks, I just can’t seem to find a similar item on Amazon.co.uk but really thanks

I don’t know how, but I didn’t see your answer about your door the first time. It reminded me of a special (black) paint that you can apply to a wall or door and write on with crayons (like a schoolboard), turns out there is also a (white) paint that lets you write on it with dry erase markers.
