Does God approve of Breckenridge legalizing marijuana?
Breckenridge Pot Legalization approved by 3 to 1 margin.
Genesis 1:29 KJV
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

The town is 9600’ above sea level. People there are already inhaling something different than the air down in the valley.
When did God get to vote on this?
By the way, decriminalization does not mean legalization. The federal government still has jurisdiction over local marijuana laws.
We’ll see— if it snows there this winter, it means he’s cool with it; if it doesn’t snow, it means he’s pissed.
@Harp: That’s a sucker’s bet. Anyplace in CO. over 9000’ high has snow. It’s the law.
”And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat”
Does that mean eating mushrooms is a sin?
I’m not too worried about whether God approves, but I certainly do.
I would think that even the assumption that a human being can come close to understanding the will or reasoning of God (or whichever higher powe you believe in… if you believe in one) is the highest form of arrogance. To put oneself on par with a supreme being implies that said being is not only not a higher power but is on the same level with humanity.
So while i think this is an awesome question and wide open for speculation there is no way anyone can say with any degree of certainty if God approves, disapproves or just doesn’t give a shit.
And, at the end of the sixth day, God created weed and saw that it was good, and spake, saying “O Dude, this is fuckin’ awesome!”
The only reason it was criminalized in the first place was because it was competing with tobacco and the tobacco farmers has more power in the government. So yeah, God approves, money grubbing men did not.
Sure he would approve. He made pot after all. If you are asking if he would approve how we use it well, “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”
It does say for meat, so as long as everyone was putting it in brownies, I see no problem.
Hooray Breckenridge!
My Magic 7 Ball says: Most definately.
@avvooooooo “The only reason it was criminalised in the first place…”
You’ll find quite a few more reasons here
It would seem that this plant has endured some devilish opposition over the years!
God made sea water too, and lava.
Poison Ivy, and Pamela Anderson. Ya don’t see people wanting to smoke her.
“This votes demonstrates that Breckenridge citizens overwhelmingly believe that adults should not be punished for making the safer choice to use marijuana instead of alcohol. I believe the implicit implications are that we should have a dialogue about taxing marijuana.”
Brb, moving to Breckenridge
@Some (more and more, it seems) parts of Pamela Anderson are man-made.
I dunno about God, but I’m sure Jesus Christ would approve of not casting the first stone of jailing pot growers and users. Jesus Christ would basically do everything the opposite of the way George Bush did it. And so in a way, yes, God is happy that Breckenridge legalized marijuana.
@Kraigmo: You have a direct line to Christ and his God?
@gailcalled, If Jesus was a real person and was the kind of person the scriptures describe, he would not favor imprisoning people for victimless crimes. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
@Kraigmo: gailcalled has left the building.
@Kraigmo
Let he who is without sin cast the first stoner.
yeah, if he made it to get us high he obviously wanted us to utilise it, fuck all this man made shit like pills and coke, just smoke de natural herb and everything will become clear once the haze lifts
@sophillyk You think cocaine isn’t natural?
Try again.
@Dr_C Even in its natural state, its potent. Its processed to make it more so.
@avvoooooo Actually, no not the coke that finally goes up your nose, it is when its harvested, then a concoction of rat poisons, sometimes crushed glass, paracetemol, chemicals etc are added. A gram of cocaine on average passes through 7 hands before going up your nose, and is cut with sometimes deadly things in order to bulk it out to make more money for the dealers. This is my job, so i actually don’t have to think again, i know.
@sophillyk What, your job is dealing coke? I don’t do cocaine it has nothing whatsoever to do with my nose. It wasn’t always processed, the origin is natural, the fact that it is now derived instead of ingested from the plant form is only the product of the past hundred and fifty years or so of advances in chemistry. People we getting the “benefits” of cocaine for many hundreds of years before the things you list out began occurring. In its essence, it is natural.
no, i study drugs, the effects they have on the mind body and society. I wasn’t talking specifically about your nose, i should have phrased it “one’s nose”. Benefits may be had from natural coke but i challenge someone to find 100% natural coke anywhere in cities. And thats where most of the drugs are being taken, my only point was that my studies show me that alcohol is more dangerous than weed and that cocaine is no longer “natural”.
heroin, cocaine and deadly nightshade berries… all from plants.
