What's the name of this movie?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7999points) November 9th, 2009 from iPhone

Basically, a man kills his significantly younger wife with a spade (claiming that she was murdered and was a bad mother to their adopted son and always out being ‘wild’) and his friend witnesses it by accident.

The witness doesn’t tell the murderer that he saw, but he soon feels guilty and his wife notices his behavior, but he brushes her off time and time again.

Later, the witness tells the murderer what he saw, and the murderer freaks out because he’s sure that he’s caught. But, the witness doesn’t tell because they’re friends.

A rival finds the murder weapon and bribes the murderer and says that he’ll turn him in. In desperation, the murderer kills the rival. The witness (same guy) sees it again, and he gets upset but says he’ll keep the secret, and helps to bury the body.

Eventually, he tells the police and his wife, and the murderer goes to jail.

I think the movies called ‘Honest Man’ or something, but I’m not sure.

Could it be this, doubt it.

Do you know what year it came out in?

It is NOT the Man Who Wasn’t There.
Have you even seen that movie?

@filmfann Have not, I ran a search on “Honest Man movie” and came up with that picture, after I posted the possibility of it being the video I read a review on it that obviously proved that match to be wrong.

Sounds like “A Simple Truth.”

@Iarumas – no, I don’t. I saw it on a plane… it seemed like a sundance flick.
