Do you treat yourself differently in real life and in fluther?

Are you two personalities – one crazy and wild (or serious and Jeruba-like) here, but the opposite in the real world?
Do you show a different side of your personality here because of the anonimity, or perhaps you don’t let go completely, worried about the consequences?
Do you worry what people think about you?

I’m a lot “louder” (e-louder) on the internet/on Fluther than I am in real life.
I wouldn’t say I am any more or less crazy/wild on fluther compared to real life. But I’m much more ready to state my opinion on things on the internet (My reason for this is partially because I hate to interrupt people. In text, there is no interruptions. 5 people can send messages at once and they’ll all get through just fine. 2 people cannot talk at the same time and sound normal. So I hold my comments till there are lulls [not lulz] in conversation)
@Sarcasm I’m like that too. Plus the insane part, of course.
I’m more open with people on Fluther.
I think it’s because there is a lot less judgment at least, people don’t say it on here compared to real life.
Not that this isn’t real life, too.. I’m just pretty anti-social in the real world.. where I’m from it’s hard to find someone who will actually listen to you without being a jerk about your problems. I think people suck. But I love you guys.
I definitely talk more on here than I do in real life. A lot more. I open up and share my feelings more online, too. I think it’s because I’m not scared of being hurt on here, like I am in real life.
Is the question “do I treat myself differently” or “do I act differently?”
I’m a bit more… vulgar, in real life. In personal, friendly situations, of course. Pretty much the same most of the time, though.
I am a bit more open on Fluther, however.
As for treating myself differently, nah.
I’m more opinionated here, and quicker to point out deficiencies or flaws in people’s arguments. I also feel like I get to use my brain a little bit more here.
Argh, “serious and Jeruba-like”? I think I am going to have to take off my clothes and show you how to play beer pong.
Either that or attempt (yet again in my young life) to explain why being serious is a legitimate kind of fun.
Woah.
I like spunky Jeruba.
No. I’m the very same. Loving science and technology and interesting debates.
This thread is so insightful! (read: Wow someone made a Popeye movie?)
I don’t know how I come across here, but I would suspect that I sound quite confident until someone disagrees with me and then I am defensive. This is because in real life I feel like a victim of everything and everyone and am afraid of saying what I think and doing what I feel all the time. So much so that I am very disconnected at times with who I really am.
Fluther helps me express myself in a safe environment and even when I am opposed on here I have the time to see what I’m doing by getting defensive and realise that I don’t need to be like that…I just need to be open and honest and respect my own voice and yours, because you guys are just fabulous and all squidgy and there’s a lot of love flying around here
I’m smarter here than in real life. :P
I probably seem a lot smarter online than in real life because I have more time to come up with responses.
<<< Can’t concentrate… feeling dizzy… the thought of @Jeruba taking off her clothes… I think I’m running a fever… need cold shower…
I get more awards on Fluther than I do in real life. I also don’t have to do the dishes here.
I love doing the dishes. Hmmm.
@Jeruba has an inventive, original and funny sense of humor.
@gailcalled is consistently who she is.
Hmm, I’m probably more enigmatic and aloof here than in person.
I’m a lot more reserved on fluther than irl.
@Jeruba Woooooooooooo! Take it all off!
@gailcalled more like @milocalled! Gail doesn’t refer to herself in the third person! ... or does she? I still say you’re milo!
I’d quite like to see Jeruba undress too ;-p
I’m more flirtatious (much more), more confident sounding and more emotional online. In rl, I do everything I can to blend into the background. Attention makes me uncomfortable. I’m afraid to say anything controversial. I just try to be a good boy.
<—- Here’s Cate dressed for beer pong.
@Sarcasm: MIlo here; Gail does sound affected at times, but I try to keep her grounded and her writing terse and unpretentious…a thankless task. My new novel is, however, short-listed for the Mann Booker Prize.
Minus the Finnish, I am 100% me no matter where I am.
@lynneblundell: It’s Milo’s novel (although a lot of the pages looked chewed around the edges) and not mine.
ah yes..i think it’s coming back to me now… bad memory.. brain cells….killed in the 60s!
