What should I be using to clean the screen of my laptop?
It’s a Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook.

Squirt some windex on a paper towel and wipe the screen down. Then use another paper towel to dry the screen.
I wouldn’t recommend paper towels too much. Paper products tend to leave some kind of fibers and plus, it wastes paper. I’d use some kind of cloth, like a microfiber cloth. I prefer microfiber because it’s meant for cleaning laptop screens. As long as its not a matte screen, a microfiber cloth and water or Windex or something along those lines will be fine. I used a microfiber cloth and Windex on my old laptop and it was fine for cleaning the screen. On my new laptop, I use a microfiber cloth and this special liquid designed to clean a screen, but the liquid is mostly water. Water works fine.
People will act like you’ll absolutely ruin your laptop screen if you make the tiniest wrong move, but you really won’t. No part of my old laptop’s screen was ever damaged from cleaning it.
@DominicX how do I know if it’s a matte screen or not?
Microfiber cloth if you got it.
Actually those only work on CQ50…
@DominicX okay thanks – I thought that was probably the case, but you just never know anymore.
microfiber cloth does work very well. I think that it can wear out, though. (works fine on MacBooks, at least.)
I use KlearScreen.com products on my iMacs and iPhones.
One bottle has lasted for over 3 years.
I use the same as hearkat on my screens and it works great.
