Does anyone know where I can find a compendium of online forums?

Asked by nmac (213points) November 13th, 2009

I hate to be the person who doesn’t trigger intellectual discussion, but I simply need help with this task:

A means of developing a list of the population of online discussion forums (general forums, not exclusively politics). Is there any sort of semi-comprehensive list out there akin to technorati.com?

Here are examples of forums so you can see what I mean:

Sounds like a census-type question to me. Maybe check out government agency websites? Also, hate to suggest it in this age of the internet, but maybe go to a library and get help from the librarian? Or call them and talk to one over the phone?

@siren I talk to librarians a lot and they don’t know much about the internet – at my school, that is. it’s sort of depressing. i’m really looking for webby geek insight on this.

Got it. Well, good luck. And if you end up on your own with this task I suggest to keep googling or searching using specific keywords.
