I’m almost certain that you can only take video and not still photos.
Only videos. No still photos.
edit :: I should add that you could take a short video on the iPod and put it on your MacBook. Play it back and pause it when you get to what you want a picture of. Then you could take a screenshot and crop the image in Preview.
To take a screenshot you press:
shift + comand + 3
(To capture the entire screen)
shift + comand + 4
(It gives you cross hairs to select a portion of the screen)
shift + comand + 4 + Spacebar
(To capture a window)
This is a pain to do. Apple really should add support for still images.
@johnpowell – I never knew the window capture one. But when I tried it, the window became hi lighted and an icon of a camera appeared but nothing happened??? I hit the spacebar again and it gave me the little cross hair thing that shows up when you just hit command shift 4.
I should have whispered that, sorry!
Hit the mouse to trigger it once the window is highlighted blue.
Works on the Dock too.
@johnpowell – that did it, thanks, that’s a handy one to know!
How do you tell it you want the dock instead of the window? I closed all the windows and tried it but then it too the desk top without the icons.
What app is the cute litte whistle blowing guy on your dock?
The app is Little Snitch.
It should just highlight the Dock. Pic. And that was kinda weird taking a screenshot of taking a screenshot. It worked, but I was surprised that it did.
The reason why there isnt still picture capability is because everyone would notice how crappy the camera on the iPod is. It for some reason it only does videos well.
