Is it just me, or do links not work in the fluther application?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7999points) November 18th, 2009 from iPhone

They work if I’m on fluther through a web browser, but on the app, I can’t click the links.
Sure, I could sign into the website version and click the link, but that sometimes is a pain to find the question or particular answer again. Try this link through the app.

I had to find this out the hard way, but the other serious flaw in the App is that you cannot use it to ask questions. Of course you can answer them ok but don’t bother trying to submit a thoughtful and carefully composed question. After all that effort, and hitting submit, it just disappears into thin air never to be found again.

I just regularly keep a Fluther page open in Safari and use that. I deleted that App never to use it again. The only thing it is good for IMHO is to let folks know that Fluther exists when they encounter it in the App store.

Once that has been accomplished, I honestly can’t fathom why anyone would ever use it again when a browser page does so much better. Because the App is so crippled in regard to those two critical functions, I think it’s pretty useless and frustrating to use.

They work for me.

But I find the app worthless. That was probably the fifth time that I used it. The web app works fine for me.

I use it with my first generation iPod Touch, OS 2.2.1, and also have problems with the links. Neither the internal Fluther links, nor the external web links work for me. I’ve assumed that I have this problem because I haven’t upgraded yet. Overall I think the app works well despite some of it’s obvious bugs…I have yet to try asking a question from though.

Try updating the application. The links never worked for me before, and now they do. I just assumed it was a bug fix of some kind.

The “ask a question” area is still totally useless, though.

I still don’t see any advantage or reason to use the Fluther iPhone App as opposed to accessing it from Safari.

Has anyone discovered a compelling reason of which I am unaware?
