I am thinking of using this service to do my laundry. What do you think?

Asked by mowens (8403points) November 18th, 2009

Does this mean I am lazy? I just don’t like concerning myself with the tedious things in life. I have crap to do!

Go for it if you can afford it.

Go for it. I think Americans do too many tedious chores. I think many marriages could be better if they just paid a maid to clean once a week because people are exhausted working and doing all of the chores around the house. If you have better things to do with your time and you have the money to do it I say why not?

@johnpowell We must have hit answer at the same time. Great minds.

I don’t see the difference between doing this and going to the grocery store to buy your vegetables instead of working to maintain a garden.

It’s a necessity of life. If you can’t or don’t want to do it yourself, and there exists an affordable option to have someone else do it for you, go for it. Why not?

Haha I was hoping everyone would tell me I was a lazy, worthless human being for wanting to do it. I pretty much have already talked myself into it… I just feel guilty. Some people struggle to feed themselves in this world… and here I am paying someone to do my laundry. haha

Let go of the guilt. In NYC it is done by the pound, tons of people get their laundry done.

In my life/style it would be kind of silly to do this. But if you’re that busy then I admire you anyway.

@mowens You might be helping keep the laundry in business and employing people who would otherwise be struggling for food, shelter and the necessities of life.

Mowens, I know you personally and I can say with confidence that you do not have crap to do. Unless crap is playing utlima online with your room mate.

Hey – I go to the gym, I work full time, I do a lot of things!

Laundry just bores me.

I agree with everyone here—if you can afford it and if it frees you up to do other things, why not? We have a housecleaner at my house. Helps avoid fights with the roomies and we provide a nice job for someone who needs it. Bonus is that my housecleaners have become my friends!

lol I am just giving you a hard time. It is lazy, but then again if you have the money theres nothing wrong with paying someone else to do the stuff you don’t want to do. Thats what making money is all about.

If I could afford it I would send my laundry out in a hot second.
