If you don’t know, then don’t get one.
Like @casheroo said, If you aren’t sure what design to get, I’m not sure you should get one. Since this is going to be on your body (presumably) for the rest of your life, it should be something you choose, that means a lot to you.
Perhaps if you need help narrowing things down, then you should ask the collective
Well, I have ideas but I also just want to see what people say
Could you post a pic of a few of your favorites?
i dont have any specifics but i like colorful ones with skull
Get your nipples tattooed as radio dials: “volume” and “tuning”
Courtesy of Mr George Carlin
not quite, those. and nothing to do with nipples
I’m scared that whatever tattoo I get, I’ll hate it once I’m 40.
Do you have any ideas yet? Anything?
I wanted to get a tattoo once. Luckily I happened to listen to loveline that night, and Adam Carolla said the best advice I have ever heard about a tattoo.
What would you have gotten a tattoo of 10 years ago? Would you still want a tattoo of that today?
If I would have gotten a tattoo at 15, it would have been something retarded. I’m am unsure of what… but I know I would hate it. I am a completely different person now. So… my advice is… decide what you want a tattoo of. Wait 10 years. If you still want that tattoo, get it.
If you can’t wait 10 years, at least wait one. See if it changes over that year.
Why do you want a tattoo?
@mineown The jelly at the top of the screen. :)
don’t get skulls- meh! dated! how about line drawing or something
i really like Iron Maiden. Something along those lines if you know what their artwork looks like
I’ll help you narrow it down. Get a tatt to match @Daloon’s avatar.~
;-)
Will you like Iron Maiden twenty years from now?
I think you should get my name on your ass.
If you don’t know, you aren’t ready.
Tattoos are a permanent reminder of a temporary sentiment.
I will like Iron Maiden for twenty years. I have been a Beatle person all my life. I can tell you everything at all about them. I get that from my mom and her side of the family. By far my favorite band. But Iron maiden I discovered maybe 2 or 3 years ago and is my favorite band that I discovered as opposed to grew up with.
@mineown How old are you? I’m 35 and still am not ready for a tat.
I am 19, but I have been thinking about it for along time. And please don’t give me criticism about my age. Also, its not like im gonna get it done this weekend or anything.
Im old and I have a tattoo and it’s fine. @mineown you can go to a shop and they probably have some derick riggs flash art, or ask one of the artists theyr’e always good at helping you find just the right thing
Like other people have said, if you’re asking strangers for suggestions about what you should get permanently on your body, you shouldn’t get one.
When you see the right thing, you’ll know.
When I was 19 I had “discovered” Third Eye Blind and thought I would loooove them forever. Thank god I didn’t get a tat…
When I was 19 I lived nearly an opposite life of what I do now…THANK GOD tats weren’t in then!
@Likeradar Just think… odds are that someone out there has a “Winger” tattoo.
Also, I do plan on getting a piercing, because I like that idea, but its not permanent like a tattoo.
ah, har har bet someone does.
I don’t think that I’d ever get a band tattoo. Actually, I’m sure that I wouldn’t. That’s just me, though.
What would you have gotten a tattoo of when you were 9?
That is a serious question. I know exactly what you mean about people laughing at you because of your age. I have always been the youngest everywhere I go. But trust me when I say just the same amount of stuff changes between 9 and 19, as 15 to 25.
I’d say 19 to 29, but I am not 29 yet. :) The biggest change in my life however, was between the ages of 18 and 21.
@mowens for me it was in the range of 23–25. Man, if I had a tat before then I’d be paying for laser removal for sure.
And at 9, my tat woulda been either a Cabbage Patch Kid or Strawberry Shortcake…Dumb di dumb, dumb Dumb
I have one. Its my astrological sign, which will never change. Its small and its on my hip where people my mother, for instance can’t see it unless I mean for them to see it. Its been… 5 years and she hasn’t caught a glimpse! HA! I thought for a long time before getting mine and decided what I wanted and decided that I wanted it in a place where I could hide it whenever I wished without doing anything extraordinary.
My advice is to go and get a henna drawing of whatever it is that you want. It looks real and you can get used to it and show it to people and ask for their opinions before doing anything permanent. There are several places that do henna like that, including tattoo parlors. Its the best “try before you buy” that there is for this kind of thing.
When I was 9 I would havae gotten the Original Green Power Ranger. And honestly. I would still love it. lol but i know what you mean.
I think a tattoo of George W. Bush would look good on you.
Also, look here for some other fantastic ideas…
I was actually looking at that today while i was in Gov. 101 lol
whats the number in () with a star next to our names?
yeah, dude the hell do you mean by necessary.
consider waiting to get a tatoo until you are on your own and supporting yourself….if you are able to support yourself and have the extra funds to pay for a tatoo and you have considered what everyone has said then you are probably ready
@mowens I can’t imagine waiting ten years to get a tattoo. And in all fairness 15 isn’t just ten years ago, it’s adolescence, there’s a big difference between ten years ago at 15 and ten years ago at 25.
That said me and my tattoo buddy have rules. We have to be settled on the same idea for at least a year and we wait three years between tattoos. Which honestly, since we’re such good planners has ended up meaning we’ve been settled on ideas for three or four years before we get them. It gives us ample time to really tweek the design and placement we want. If one of us gets over eager (as each of us has) the other reels them in until the appointed time. It’s a good system.
@proXXi @mineown I was questioning the necessity of dragging the bible into a discussion about tattoos. Personally, I think its extremely rude to try and shove your religious beliefs onto other people.
when i said i was looking at that, i didnt meant the bible i meant that page of wierd tattoos.
@mineown As I was addressing @proXXi who’s sole contribution was directing you to the bible, that’s what I was talking about. When someone uses the @ sign they are directly addressing a person. I was directly addressing @proXXi and inferring that his post was unnecessary. There was no need to go all “what the hell did you mean” on me.
my bad. how do you do the @ thing?
Type @ and then look at the drop down menu beneath the text box. You can also type @ and then start typing the letters of someone’s name. Try typing ”@av” and see what happens.
ok. i see. and whats that number next to peoples name with a star?
@avvoooooo, I disagree that my comment is unecessary as a Leviticus tattoo would be ironic and funny. I realize that humor can catch some by suprise.
I avoid being tattooed not because the bible suggests one shouldn’t (I could not care less) but because I enjoy expressing my individuality.
How about a tattoo of Tattoo (Hervé Villechaize)?
@proXXi I’m Catholic. No tats or boob jobs for me ;)...though I would like tattoo make up
i hopefully wont ever need a boob job.
