Is Christmas getting out of control?

The true(original) meaning of Christmas has been washed away by the mighty Dollar(the new meaning of Christmas)

The commercialization of Christmas is staggering, I started seeing Christmas shit in stores around October 3rd, Christmas commercials since October 10th and it’s just got worse since then. I just got my 15 pound sears catalog in the mail, along with the Walmart/Zellers fliers (or books)I almost threw my back out trying to catch the fucking adds spilling out of my mail box, it was full to the top (no real mail, just ads)(also the TV/radio/newspaper ads are in high gear)
Now Christmas music is starting to play on the radio,
and it is only going to get worse…

Is there a way we or more accurately the Christians can fix this holiday to it’s somewhat original meaning?
And Make the stores wait until a reasonable date to start bombarding us?
before they try to sell this shit year round
