Canada has promised Africa money for HIV / AIDS, but how much have they actually given?
HIV / Aids can be prevented in Africa, we know how to help it, with the pills and such, but are we really doing the best we can?
Also, I was just wondering how much money Canada promised Africa for HIV / Aids and how much they have ACTUALLY given?

If Canada gives a boatload of cash to starving Africans nations which are often wrought with corruption and despots, how can they be sure the money gets to the intended destination and is used for the purpose for which it was donated?
First off, I just have to say… CONDOMS. You don’t treat the result of an epidemic, you treat the frickin’ source. You can treat the results failing that, but ‘pills help it’ is kind of an oversimplified and ridiculous statement. The only time pills ‘help’ it is during breastfeeding and pregnancy.
My next question – How the shit do you think Canada promised an entire continent aid? Africa isn’t a country. It is not unified, and the statement is meaningless.
@asmonet I would love if we could send bombers over all African nations to drop condoms and visual instructions to all African nations but so many cultures refuse to use them. That part is sad since prevention is relatively easy. Hell, we can’t even get that point across to everyone in America.
You’re telling me, I live just outside DC. With 3% of the population infected – it’s worse than West Africa – I’m about three seconds away from being terrified of peen and locking up my nethers for good.
Canada has pledged the money to the International Monetary Fund $12 billion.
should have a dec point in there!! 1.2 billion
haha, I don’t know, I heard this topic brought up during English randomly. Not too clear about the facts, so it’s very likely that I have no clue what I’m talking about. =S
