Is it possible to have a 'branch' of private schools that belong to the one organisation?

For example, I go to a private school that is entirely independent from other private schools.
But would it be possible for my school to start a chain of other private schools with the same mission statement etc?
(This question was inspired by business franchises if that helps explain what I mean).
I’d appreciate an example of what such a branch/chain of private schools would be called. Thank you!

Yes, Oprah Winifrey and her school in Anfrica. A branch of private schools :D
Yes. Examples—Waldorf, Montessori, Christian schools.
Yes count to think of it, Goddard also.
Yes, an example is the Options for Youth programs which are private schools that provide alternatives for students in school districts throughout the state. I believe Montessori Schools may be similar to what you are asking.

Thanks for all your answers.
@YARNLADY Yes, Montessori Schools was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much ^.^
There already is a very professional umbrella organization for all private schools called The National Association of Indipendent Schools (nais.org). Most states or regions have smaller versions. New York State Ass’n of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) for example.
Many of the Christian, Jewish, Steiner Schools are members of both that and their own organizations.
NAIS is the legal accrediting arm for the country.
My ex- was the Executive Director of NYSAIS for 20 years and had many non-tradtional schools as members. His organization did the official evaluation, provided workshops, conferences, education and camaraderie.
@YARNLADY: Nah. That was too easy since I lived with the organization for over a decade (which was basically my ex-husband).
