What theatrical or music performances (live or recorded) have you listened to/watched that infused you with the feeling of 'a beautiful death'?
…‘beautiful deaths’? [audiobooks included] When/If you tearup in listening/viewing, is it cathartic or wrenching. Do you disgustingly call it a ‘sentimental heartstring-pulling at it’s worst’, and swear to never listen/view anything like that again? I want to listen to/watch a titrated selection of the items you present; to experience anew, from your refined list, selected, occasional, beautiful death(s) in performance.

Oh, I guess my answer on your other question would have been more appropriate here. Well, here is the video for the people who didn’t see the other question.
… This is pretty much the same question, yeah?
Bad deaths;
Emma Bovary
Anna Karenina
Carmen
Romeo and Juliet
Hamlet père
Tess of the D’Urbervilles
Catherine in Wuthering Heights (the death-in-childbirth as literary device).
Good deaths;
The Last Lecture author, Randy Pausch
Tuesdays with Morrie:about Morrie Schwartz
Violetta in_La Traviata_
The eponymous Tosca as long as someone remembers to place the mattresses behind the bulwarks.
Symphony of Sorrowful Songs by Henryk Gorecki. It was used in the air crash scene in Fearless. Incredible music.
Eponine’s death in Les Miserables is wonderful. She redeems her youthful character flaws, and she sacrifinces herself in a gesture of unrequited love.
@Austinlad I do not have that ‘Symphony of Sorrowful Songs’ , nor have I seen Jet Li’s ‘Fearless’ . I’ve seen most of his work… looking forward to ‘Fearless’ and the symphony!
@zephyr826 ah, yes ! Thanks for the reminder ; Les Miserables is definitely worth another viewing.
@stratman37 I have not seen that movie; certainly have not missed many of Cage’s movies. Thanks…. I’ll netflix it soon!
