How do I get invited to a group of my friends ?

I want to be a friend of Kate. How do I do this ?

I go to Kate’s profile but cannot find a friend request button.

Right next to her profile image and her name, there’s a button that says ”+ Add kate to your fluther”. That’s the button you want to click. Or message her.
