How do you remove a 1/2 inch splinter from under a finger nail?

You may have to get pointy tweezers, sanitize them, and dig them down to the splinter to pull it out. That’s what I imagine they’ll do at the doctor’s office. Soak your finger in Dr. Tichenor’s first to take a lot of the soreness out so you can do it.

I know how painful that is. cut the nail as far as you can (it doesn’t have to be even), and use the tweezers. Don’t give up. It will just get worse if you don’t take care of it.

Oh man! That must really hurt! I am cringing just thinking about it. I feel so sorry for you. I think if it were me, I would wrap a rubber band really tight around my finger tip before trying to dig it out to make it numb. You might also want to try using ice to numb it. Whatever you try, make sure you sterilize first. if a splinter hurts that bad, you certainly don’t want an infedtion under the nail… OW!!

No splinter is visible except way under the nail….
