__The Yes Album__ Yes
__Crime of the Century__, __Breakfast in America__ Supertramp
__Days of Future Passed__ The Moody Blues
__Aqualung__ Jethro Tull
__Dark Side of the Moon__, __Wish You Were Here__, and __The Wall__ Pink Floyd

OK, in preview those all show up italicized due to the emphasis tag, but I see the tags instead in the actual post. Weird

@trailsillustrated —what album(s) of theirs do you recommend most?

I think At The Drive In counts as progressive rock. If so I suggest Relationship of Command.

I like the new Flaming Lips albim Embryonic very much. I’d file it under Progressive Rock.

Here’s a page that will list such bands from the late 1960s until today.

Personally, I consider this the first Progressive Rock song. Or maybe proto-Progressive Rock. And for that matter, the first Doctor Who theme in 1963 was pretty damn progressive. I’ll bet the Yes boys watched that show as kids. And Gary Numan, too.

Having some problems with the __emphasis__ tag.

You only need to type the underscore once on each side, like so: see?

Oh, right, duh. Still wonder why it showed up in the preview italicized.

CAN – They have some good stuff in the early seventies. (Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi).

Also, Pink Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother wasn’t included earlier, and I think it’s an amazing album, along with Animals and Meddle.

I love De-loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta. It’s a great album.

The Beatles: Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, and The Final Cut.
Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Moody Blues: Days of the Future Past

My favorite of these? The Final Cut. Pink Floyd was incredible.

Dream Theater anyone? (Also, 3 of the members from Dream Theater went off and made Liquid Tension Experiment with some guy from another bands, another prog band)

PROG rock people! How many people are just stating rock?

@Sarcasm Good call on the Dream Theatre call, Train of Thought is the best album for me.

Personally I’m more of a Spock’s Beard kinda guy (any of their early stuff, before the original lead singer left. Also Transatlantic, One of the best SuperBands ever if you ask me!
