Are there tests or feats couples pass through that stand out in your mind to show theyve 'cut the mustard'?

Home improvement projects. If you ca hang wallpaper or lay tile together and not kill each other, you’re good.
Deaths. That’s a big test. After being together for 44 years, we’ve been through it together many times. That’s where you draw love & strength from each other. I think that’s the biggest test of time.
Building something from Ikea!
What type of mustard are we talking about?
How about dealing with intimacy after kids enter the picture.
How about dealing with intimacy after kids leave the picture?
I wouldn’t know about that. =p
@janbb intimacy AFTER the kids leave is sweet…........ ;-)
Big things like….death, unemployment.
Smaller things, like… moving (the whole unpacking and packing included. ugh)...
okay I can’t think of anymore right now.
I haven’t successfully cut any marital mustard yet though I have close to 20 years experience trying to do it. However, I would say getting through a divorce and remaining best friends is a pretty good mustard to slice up for a friendship test. :-)
My dad had two affairs when I was a kid. She forgave him and they are still together and happily married after 38 years. He has never been unfaithful since.
Two weeks or better on Survivor. I’d marry her.
Packing the car during a camping trip. I once was told by a near-by camper that he thought Hubby was doing a great job of packing.
A one week camping trip together. Nothing is easy. You have to build a fire to cook your food. You cannot be comfortable sleeping on the ground. It’s cold. It’s wet.
One week in the elements brings out the worst possible you, and if a couple survives that, they have it made.
