Why is this Garmin model better?

I am trying to get my husband a GPS for Christmas. I have read comparison charts on Amazon and here but I am lost.
I have found a 205 on sale for $89 (originally $159), a 265W for $119 (originally $229) and a 1300 for $139 (originally $199).
The 1300 is clearly a newer model, but I don’t see that it has anything the 265W has other than being thinner and lighter. I don’t even know what features are really necessary. Help?

The most important feature on a GPS is the feature which speaks the directions giving the names of the streets. We have a ban on cell phones and using GPS devices while driving. The speaking directions is extremely helpful when you can’t be picking the darn thing up. Can’t remember which one I bought – it was for my directionally challenged child. But I used it and loved that feature.
The 265T (same as the W, but with lifetime free traffic reports) is the one I use. It announces street names, will connect with a bluetooth phone/headset, is not bad looking, and seems to have decent algorithms, although, as with all navigators, you have to pay attention and perhaps override its decisions once in a while.
I have a Magellan; we got it free from a tire promo. I like it better than DH’s Garmin.
I have a Garmin X65T. It’s great. I’d suggest the 1300 if only for the newer tech—looks like the only difference really is the ecoRoute on the 1300—but they may have given the sensors a slight tweak. Otherwise, the 265W will be a great option.
